I’m Jonathan Juviler M.Ost, a registered osteopath who trained at the prestigious British School of Osteopathy, qualifying with a Master’s degree. My previous career was as a professional drummer working in studios across the country and performing extensively throughout Europe. My experience in a physically demanding job has given me a good understanding of what it is to be reliant on a fully-functioning healthy body, and of the worry and frustration when coping with injuries or pain.
I have a wide range of experience in the treatment of amateur and high level sportspeople, musicians, dancers, those suffering with chronic pain conditions and people with postural complaints. I have also worked in specialist clinics treating older patients, those suffering with HIV, and expectant mothers.
I have trained in a variety of areas including advanced manipulation techniques, functional techniques and sports massage therapy in order to offer my patients a broad and unique treatment programme. To understand and support my patients throughout their recovery, and to explore ‘why’ something may have become dysfunctional, is key to my osteopathic approach.
I realise that habits, postures and lifestyle will potentially have a significant effect on the way our bodies function and I am keen to observe these where possible. With my background as a musician I am also able to consider any technical alterations that may help my more musically inclined patients.
